Workday has broadened its platform strategy with the launch of a global developer network and a deepened data partnership with Google Cloud. The new network gives developers worldwide access to Workday Build, hands-on AI training, and formal certifications designed to create a larger pool of Workday-skilled talent. Universities and staffing partners across several regions will participate, and graduates can be listed in a Workday talent directory used by customers seeking developers who can build extensions, automate workflows, and design AI agents on the platform.

Alongside the talent initiative, Google BigQuery became the latest service to integrate with Workday Data Cloud, giving enterprises zero-copy access to HR and finance data inside Google Cloud for analytics and predictive modeling. Insights generated in BigQuery can also be fed back into Workday to guide workforce, financial, and operational decisions. 

The company also disclosed plans to acquire Pipedream, a widely used integration platform with thousands of connectors, to strengthen the infrastructure underpinning Workday’s emerging AI agent ecosystem. Together with earlier acquisitions of Sana and Flowise, Workday is positioning its platform as a broader development environment for organizations building AI-driven applications and automated agents across their enterprise systems.
