Tanium has appointed Carol MacKinlay as Chief People Officer, tasking the veteran HR leader with steering the company’s global talent strategy and organizational growth. MacKinlay joins the executive team as Tanium continues to scale its “Autonomous IT” platform, which recently earned “Leader” status in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Management Tools.
MacKinlay brings more than three decades of experience building people organizations for technology firms at every stage of the lifecycle. She joins Tanium from Pebl, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer and led the company’s recent rebranding and operational scaling. Her career also includes senior leadership roles at Binance.US, Xero, Matterport, and UserTesting, where she specialized in guiding organizations through rapid transformation and public-market readiness.
CEO Dan Streetman noted that MacKinlay’s track record of building high-performing teams is essential as the company expands its global footprint. MacKinlay highlighted that her focus will be on maintaining Tanium’s high-performance culture—which received “Best Workplace” honors in the UK, France, and Japan last year—ensuring the team is structured to support the company’s long-term market leadership in AI-driven endpoint security.
