Snowflake has announced a multi-year partnership with OpenAI valued at $200 million, aimed at helping enterprises deploy AI agents directly on their proprietary data. The agreement formalizes joint product development and coordinated go-to-market efforts, allowing organizations to build customized AI solutions with measurable business returns.
As part of the deal, OpenAI’s models will be natively integrated into Snowflake Cortex AI and made available to Snowflake’s more than 12,600 customers across the major cloud platforms. Models, including GPT-5.2, will also be accessible through Snowflake Intelligence, enabling employees to query and act on enterprise data using natural language. The collaboration extends an existing relationship in which OpenAI already uses Snowflake for analytics and testing, while Snowflake relies on ChatGPT Enterprise internally.
Sridhar Ramaswamy, Chief Executive Officer of Snowflake, said, “By bringing OpenAI models to enterprise data, Snowflake enables organizations to build and deploy AI on top of their most valuable asset using the secure, governed platform they already trust.” Fidji Simo, Chief Executive Officer of Applications at OpenAI, added, “This partnership brings our advanced models directly into that environment, making it easier to deploy AI agents and apps.” Early enterprise users, including Canva and WHOOP, said the integration supports faster analysis and experimentation without compromising on security.
