PowerSchool, a provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education, announced that Antonio Pietri will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer effective October 6, 2025. Pietri, former President and CEO of Aspen Technology, takes over from Hardeep Gulati, who led PowerSchool for more than ten years and will now serve as Senior Advisor during the transition. Dave Humphrey, Partner at Bain Capital, commented, “Antonio’s expertise in scaling and operating vertical software firms adds the leadership experience to drive PowerSchool’s transformation.” Pietri brings a track record of growing technology firms, most recently guiding Aspen Technology through steady growth and its acquisition by Emerson earlier this year.

Pietri praised PowerSchool’s role in education, stating, “The company has built a strong foundation under Hardeep’s leadership, and I look forward to working with this talented team to accelerate our mission.” Gulati reflected on his tenure, calling it “the greatest privilege of my career,” and highlighted the company’s impact on over 60 million students worldwide. Bain Capital Partner Max de Groen emphasized the firm’s commitment to supporting PowerSchool’s leadership in K-12 software solutions. With operations in more than 90 countries and a customer base exceeding 18,000 districts, PowerSchool is set to continue its growth under Pietri’s leadership.
