Oracle has announced a substantial investment exceeding $6.5 billion to establish a public cloud region in Malaysia, aimed at addressing the increasing demand for artificial intelligence and cloud services in the country. This new cloud region will empower Oracle’s customers and partners to modernize applications and migrate mission-critical workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The region will feature advanced services such as OCI Generative AI Agents, accelerated computing, and OCI Supercluster—an extensive AI supercomputer designed to support sovereign AI models and a broad suite of over 150 cloud services.

Malaysia is positioning itself as a hub for technological innovation in Southeast Asia, with the public cloud services market projected to grow by 27.2 percent annually from 2022 to 2027.
