OPSWAT appointed Jan Miller as Chief Technology Officer, creating an expanded role that will include leading a new Technology Center and coordinating research, engineering, and product development. The company is positioning the move around perimeter-focused threat detection—bringing sandbox analysis and threat intelligence closer to the point where files first enter an environment, with the goal of identifying evasive threats earlier in the file lifecycle.
Miller joined OPSWAT in late 2022 and previously served as CTO of Threat Analysis. OPSWAT credits him with helping advance its adaptive sandboxing work and noted his background building malware analysis and threat detection technologies, including founding cybersecurity companies later acquired by CrowdStrike and OPSWAT. Miller said the Technology Center will focus on tighter integration between sandboxing and threat intelligence “at the perimeter,” where decisions often need to be made in seconds, aiming to reduce alert noise and speed response in critical environments.
