OpenAI has appointed Denise Dresser as Chief Revenue Officer, where she will lead the company’s global revenue strategy across enterprise sales and customer success. The appointment comes as OpenAI continues to expand the use of its products across business operations, including through offerings such as ChatGPT for Work and its API. The company said more than one million business customers—including Walmart, Morgan Stanley, and Intuit—currently use its technology in daily workflows. OpenAI added that the role will focus on supporting organizations as they move from pilot projects toward broader adoption of AI across core systems and critical functions.

Fidji Simo, Chief Executive Officer of Applications, said, “We’re on a path to put AI tools into the hands of millions of workers across every industry. Denise has led that kind of shift before, and her experience will help us make AI useful, reliable, and accessible for businesses everywhere.”

Dresser brings extensive experience in scaling enterprise platforms and leading large revenue organizations. She most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Slack, where she oversaw its integration with Salesforce and the adoption of AI features across workplace tools. Before that, she spent more than a decade at Salesforce in senior sales leadership roles. Her appointment coincides with broader workplace adoption of AI, with OpenAI citing data showing that 75% of workers report improvements in speed or quality of work, and many save up to an hour a day. Commenting on her new role, Dresser said, “I’ve spent my career helping scale category-defining platforms, and I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to OpenAI as it enters its next phase of enterprise transformation.”
