Meta is acquiring Manus, the Singapore-based company behind a general-purpose autonomous AI agent built for tasks such as research, automation, coding, and data analysis. Manus claims its agent has processed more than 147 trillion tokens and powered the creation of over 80 million “virtual computers” since launching earlier this year. The companies say the Manus subscription service will continue operating and be sold through its app and website, while the technology is integrated into Meta’s products, including Meta AI. Manus also says it will continue operating from Singapore and is positioning the change as non-disruptive for existing customers.
Reported details around the transaction value Manus at more than $2 billion and describe a full buyout of existing investors. Additional reported figures put Manus’ annual revenue run rate at $125 million earlier this year from subscriptions, giving Meta an agent product with existing commercial traction as it expands distribution across its consumer and business surfaces. Meta has also stated there will be no continuing Chinese ownership interests following the transaction and that Manus will discontinue its services and operations in China.
