Grammarly, an AI assistant company serving over 40 million users, announced its intent to acquire Superhuman, the AI-driven email platform known for boosting user efficiency. The acquisition will help Grammarly advance its vision of creating an AI productivity platform with intelligent agents operating across applications. “This is the future we’ve been building toward since day one: AI that works where people work, not where companies want them to work,” said Shishir Mehrotra, CEO of Grammarly. With Superhuman’s technology, Grammarly aims to enhance its presence in email, a key focus area where it already assists with over 50 million emails weekly. The move complements Grammarly’s earlier acquisition of Coda and supports its goal of offering multi-agent assistance directly within users’ workflows.
Superhuman, recognized for its high adoption of AI among users, will bring measurable productivity gains and expanded functionality as part of Grammarly. “By joining forces with Grammarly, we will invest even more in the core Superhuman experience, as well as create a new way of working where AI agents collaborate across the communication tools that we all use every day,” said Rahul Vohra, CEO of Superhuman. The partnership will allow users to access AI agents that manage inboxes, schedule tasks, conduct research, and write emails. Grammarly plans to integrate multiple agents into everyday tools, making email a central hub for AI-assisted productivity.
