Five9 has announced the appointment of Amit Mathradas as its next Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Five9 provides an Intelligent CX Platform that helps enterprises deliver AI-driven customer engagement across digital and voice channels. Mathradas will succeed Mike Burkland, who announced his retirement from the CEO role in July 2025, and will continue to serve on the Board.
Mathradas most recently served as CEO of Nintex, where he led the development of an AI-centric business orchestration platform. His previous roles include President and Chief Operating Officer of Avalara, where he helped scale the business significantly before its $8.4 billion acquisition by Vista Equity Partners. Burkland stated, “I’m thrilled to welcome Amit as the next CEO of Five9. His deep expertise in product innovation, AI, and operational excellence at scale makes him ideally suited to lead the Company into its next chapter.”
Mathradas said he was enthusiastic about leading a company that he has long respected, noting, “I look forward to working with the Board and team to drive growth, increase profitability, and deliver long-term shareholder value.” Lead Independent Director Robert Zollars added that the Board is grateful for Burkland’s nearly 18 years of service and expressed confidence in a smooth transition.
