Figma has announced the acquisition of Weavy, which will integrate into its platform as Figma Weave. According to the announcement, the goal is to advance how creators work with AI by treating initial prompts as a starting point rather than a finished output. Weavy’s browser-based environment brings together multiple AI models, letting users select the most suitable tool for tasks such as cinematic video, realistic imagery, or precise visual adjustments. Its node-based system enables branching, remixing, and refining outputs, combining experimentation with controlled editing.
Weavy was founded in Tel Aviv in 2024 and its platform has quickly built a user community spanning independent designers, entertainment studios, marketing teams, and enterprise groups. Figma highlighted that the Weavy team shares its focus on craft and collaboration and has begun increasing hiring to support the joint roadmap.
