According to a press release, Databricks plans to invest more than $850 million in the UK over the next three years, aiming to expand its footprint and support growing demand for data and AI solutions. The investment will focus on hiring talent, scaling operations, and advancing the adoption of its AI-driven products, including Lakebase, a serverless Postgres database, and Genie, an AI agent designed to help users interact with data.

As part of the expansion, the company will significantly increase its London presence with a new 137,000-square-foot headquarters, which will serve as its EMEA hub and strengthen engagement with regional customers, including major FTSE 100 firms. The new facility will support a growing workforce expected to exceed 1,000 employees in the coming years and will include dedicated spaces for training, collaboration, and customer engagement. 

The company also plans to train 100,000 individuals across the UK and Ireland in data and AI skills by 2028 through academic partnerships and broader access to its platform. Michael Green, UK and Ireland Managing Director, said, “This new office and investments accelerate that ambition even further.” Samuel Bonamigo, SVP and GM for EMEA, added, “Our new EMEA hub will enable us to drive growth in the region and help businesses scale faster.”
