Cisco has announced that its subsidiary, Splunk, has partnered with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) to deliver a new plug-in that connects Splunk Enterprise Security with ASD’s Cyber Threat Intelligence Sharing (CTIS) platform. Mandatory since July 2024, CTIS enables rapid intelligence sharing. Splunk CTIS members can exchange threat data at machine speed, boosting defenses and speeding incident response. Splunk is only the second company to launch such an integration, underscoring the importance of collaboration between government and industry.

Marc Caltabiano, Group Vice President, ANZ at Splunk, said, “This integration with ASD’s platform equips our customers with the intelligence to protect essential services and respond decisively as attacks grow in speed and sophistication.” The CTIS plug-in is also accessible to private sector operators, including critical infrastructure providers, allowing broader participation in national cyber defense.

Stephanie Crowe, Head of ASD’s Australian Cyber Security Centre, stressed, “No person, organization or entity is immune from a cyber-attack, but through closer partnerships between governments and the private sector, we can collectively join forces to tackle cyber threats.” Splunk further deepened its public sector commitment by achieving an IRAP PROTECTED assessment for its Observability Cloud, its 20th IRAP-assessed service.

Sarah Sloan, Senior Director, Government Strategy, APAC at Splunk, added, “Observability gives agencies the visibility and insight they need to protect critical assets, and ensure uninterrupted services that millions of Australians depend on every day.”
