Airtable has announced the appointment of David Azose, a former executive at OpenAI, as its new Chief Technology Officer. The company stated that the move marks a significant step toward its goal of becoming an AI-native organization. Azose, who previously led ChatGPT’s Business Products at OpenAI, brings extensive experience in scaling user-facing AI tools and driving accessibility in enterprise workflows. His expertise in designing accessible and high-performing AI solutions is expected to guide Airtable’s continued efforts to integrate artificial intelligence across its platform.
CEO Howie Liu expressed confidence in Azose’s appointment, saying that Azose’s background and vision will accelerate the company’s mission to make AI more practical and impactful for everyday business operations. Azose said, “There was a lot about Howie’s vision for an AI-native Airtable that was just very, very compelling for me. I think Omni has an opportunity to expand the reach of building by orders of magnitude.”
In his new role, Azose will lead Airtable’s technology and product innovation as the company reimagines how teams collaborate and make decisions through AI-driven solutions. Azose added, “I’m passionate about the intersection of knowledge work and democratization, and Airtable is well-positioned to play in that space.”
