Anthropic Labs has launched Claude Design, a new product aimed at transforming the creative process into a more conversational and collaborative experience. Powered by the recently released Claude Opus 4.7, the tool allows users to generate high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and marketing collateral through natural language. Currently in research preview for paid subscribers, the platform leverages high-resolution image support to interpret complex layouts and design systems with 1:1 pixel precision.
The software is designed to function as a bridge between ideation and production, specifically targeting the friction often found in the handoff between designers and developers. By reading a team’s existing codebase and design files, Claude Design can automatically apply established colors, typography, and components to every new project. Once a visual direction is finalized, the platform packages the assets into a specialized handoff bundle that can be passed directly to Claude Code for technical implementation, creating a closed-loop workflow from prompt to deployment.
Beyond simple static generation, Claude Design introduces fine-grained controls such as inline comments and custom-built adjustment knobs for real-time layout tweaks. For founders and product managers without formal design training, the tool offers a way to produce professional-grade pitch decks and wireframes that can be exported to Canva or as standalone HTML.
