Stellantis has announced a five-year strategic collaboration with Microsoft to accelerate its digital transformation through the co-development of advanced artificial intelligence and cybersecurity capabilities. This automaker, which manages a diverse portfolio of brands including Jeep, Peugeot, and Maserati, aims to integrate these technologies across its entire value chain, from vehicle design to customer interaction.
The partnership focuses on more than 100 initiatives, including predictive maintenance and the rapid deployment of new digital features within vehicle operating systems. Ned Curic, Stellantis Chief Engineering and Technology Officer, stated, “Through our collaboration with Microsoft, we are accelerating our AI momentum across the enterprise, giving our teams the tools to innovate faster and deliver the products, services, and experiences customers expect from us.”
The collaboration also introduces an AI-driven global cyberdefense center to protect connected vehicles, manufacturing sites, and customer data against emerging threats. By utilizing Microsoft Azure, the company plans to modernize its infrastructure and aims to achieve a 60% reduction in its data center footprint by 2029. Drivers will benefit from personalized insights, such as energy-efficient driving recommendations and proactive vehicle-health updates. Additionally, the firm is providing its workforce with enterprise-grade AI tools, including 20,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses, to enhance internal productivity. Judson Althoff, CEO of Microsoft’s Commercial Business, noted, “By combining Stellantis’ global scale and engineering expertise with Microsoft’s trusted cloud, AI and security platforms, we are delivering real value for millions of drivers worldwide.”
