Xero and Anthropic have entered a multi-year partnership to bring Claude’s AI capabilities directly into Xero and extend Xero’s financial data and tools into Claude.ai, giving small businesses and their accounting advisors access to real-time financial analysis and actions across platforms. The companies said the integration will allow users to review cash flow, overdue invoices, revenue and profit trends, and business planning scenarios without moving between separate tools.
The rollout, expected in the coming months, marks the first time Xero customers will be able to work with their financial information inside a major AI platform. The offering is intended to reduce time spent on manual administrative work, such as tracking unpaid invoices or piecing together cash flow from multiple reports. Under the partnership, Xero’s AI assistant, JAX (Just Ask Xero), will use Claude’s reasoning capabilities to automate tasks across accounting, payroll, and payments, while Claude.ai will allow users to analyze Xero data alongside outside business context and trigger follow-up actions.
Xero said customer financial information shared between the two platforms will only be used for the active session and will not be used to train Claude’s models. Diya Jolly, Chief Product & Technology Officer at Xero, said, “Small businesses and advisors don’t just need data; they need a digital partner that acts on it.” Chris Ciauri, Managing Director of International at Anthropic, added, “Claude brings a reasoning layer to that foundation.” Xero’s engineering teams will also use Claude and Cowork to support product development.
