Microsoft recently appointed longtime executive Dan Shapero as Chief Executive Officer of LinkedIn, succeeding Ryan Roslansky. Shapero, who joined the professional network in 2008 as employee “300-ish,” most recently served as Chief Operating Officer after leading teams across sales, marketing, and product. Under the new structure, Shapero will report to Roslansky, who retains his role as Executive Vice President of Microsoft Office and LinkedIn. The transition comes as the platform reports record milestones, including $19 billion in annual revenue and a global member base exceeding 1.3 billion.
Shapero’s promotion is paired with the appointment of Mohak Shroff as President of Platforms & Digital Work, a newly created role designed to bridge LinkedIn’s professional graph with Microsoft’s broader productivity suite. Shroff, formerly LinkedIn’s head of engineering, is now charged with steering long-term technology strategy and AI-driven innovation across both organizations. Together, the new leadership team is tasked with integrating agentic AI capabilities into the daily workflows of professionals.
