Snowflake has introduced Project SnowWork in research preview, unveiling an autonomous enterprise AI platform designed to help business users complete multi-step work through conversational prompts. The desktop-based system is built to move beyond question-answering by allowing employees to request outcomes such as forecast presentations, churn-risk spreadsheets, or supply chain analyses and have the platform carry out the required tasks from start to finish.
Snowflake said Project SnowWork connects its enterprise data platform, AI capabilities, and governed business context to orchestrate workflows securely across data and enterprise systems. The platform includes role-specific skills for teams such as finance, sales, marketing, and operations, while also handling complex task planning, analysis, deliverable creation, and follow-up actions within a single interaction.
Sridhar Ramaswamy, Chief Executive Officer of Snowflake, stated, “We are entering the era of the agentic enterprise, ushering in a fundamentally new way to work.” He added, “Project SnowWork looks to put secure, data-grounded AI agents on every surface, so business leaders and operators can move from question to action instantly.” Snowflake said the platform differs from general-purpose AI agents because it operates on a governed enterprise data foundation with shared definitions, cross-cloud interoperability, built-in security controls, and auditability.
Analyst Sanjeev Mohan said the launch marks a shift from AI as an analytical tool to “an execution layer embedded directly into enterprise workflows,” helping organizations reduce manual reporting and turn governed data into practical business action.
