Replit has introduced a new version of its coding agent, Agent 4, alongside a $400 million funding round that values the company at $9 billion. The release builds on Replit’s push into what has become known as “vibe coding,” where applications are created through natural language and interactive inputs rather than traditional code-first workflows. Agent 4 adds what Replit calls a digital canvas, allowing users to sketch features, adjust mockups, and collaborate in real time as the agent turns those inputs into working software.
Founder and CEO Amjad Masad described the product as a way to “design together with the agent,” moving the experience closer to how teams brainstorm and build in practice. The company is aiming the tool at both developers and non-technical users, including teams that want to prototype and deploy internal applications without working directly in a code editor. That positioning has helped Replit gain traction with companies including Zillow, Databricks, PayPal, and Adobe, which are using the platform to build internal tools more quickly.
The funding round was led by Georgian, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, and others, and will support international expansion and growth of Replit’s go-to-market team. The raise comes as competition intensifies in AI-assisted software development, but Replit is trying to distinguish itself through a more visual interface and a stronger focus on accessibility for users outside traditional engineering roles.
