Cohesity and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership around enterprise AI, cybersecurity, and data protection, with new integrations aimed at making protected data easier to search and safer to recover after an attack. The companies are extending how Cohesity’s Data Cloud works inside Google Cloud, including a Google Cloud-hosted version of Cohesity’s Gaia AI assistant that is available now. Cohesity also plans to deepen Gaia’s search capabilities by embedding Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Search, with the goal of returning grounded answers to user questions with citations tied back to files stored in Cohesity’s immutable data lake.
On the security side, the collaboration builds on Cohesity’s use of Google Threat Intelligence for scanning and identifying indicators of compromise within backup data, supporting what the companies describe as cleaner, more reliable recoveries. Cohesity’s cyber response team will continue working with Google Cloud’s Mandiant incident response group for shared customers, and a deeper connection to Google Security Operations is intended to automate parts of security workflows by surfacing threats that may exist in backup repositories.
The companies also emphasized data sovereignty and resilience: Cohesity is certified as a Google Cloud Ready partner for regulated and sovereignty solutions, FortKnox cyber vaulting on Google Cloud is positioned for immutable, region-specific storage controls, and DataProtect will broaden support for protecting Google Cloud services, including expanded coverage for GKE and BigQuery, with availability through Google Cloud Marketplace.
