Capgemini has developed an agentic artificial intelligence–based career assistant to help young people identify green learning opportunities and connect with sustainable careers, building on its partnership with UNICEF. The tool, first deployed in Brazil, delivers personalized career guidance through a multi-agent AI system that operates around the clock, including in vulnerable and climate-affected regions. Once refined, the solution will support UNICEF’s Green Rising initiative, which has already reached more than 27 million young people with green skills. The project emerged from Capgemini’s Global Data Science Challenge, a company-wide program that mobilizes employee expertise to address social challenges.
Designed as a digital career companion, the assistant conducts conversational interviews to assess skills and ambitions, identifies gaps, and recommends relevant training. “Young people around the world not only feel the urgency of the climate crisis but also want to be part of the solution,” said Niraj Parihar, CEO of Insights and Data at Capgemini. Early testing shows close to an 80% success rate in matching users to suitable paths. UNICEF’s Nadi Albino said, “Every young person deserves a dignified livelihood,” adding that personalized AI tools can help connect youth to opportunities in the green economy.
