Cadence has named Dr. Luc Van den hove to its Board of Directors effective January 1, 2026. Hove serves as the Chief Executive Officer of imec, a research hub focused on nanoelectronics and digital technologies. ML Krakauer, Chair of the Cadence Board, highlighted, “Luc’s deep technical expertise, trusted ecosystem relationships and broad industry perspective will bring invaluable insights as we continue advancing our strategy, accelerating innovation and delivering enduring value to our shareholders.”
Hove has been part of imec since its founding in 1984 and has led the organization as President and CEO since 2009. He will remain in that role until March 31, 2026, before becoming Chair of imec’s board.
Hove brings significant domain knowledge to Cadence’s strategic direction. His prior positions include Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of key research divisions within imec. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering from KU Leuven and also serves on the Board of Proximus. Cadence continues to develop AI- and digital twin-based design solutions used across computing, communications, automotive, aerospace, and life sciences markets.
