Veeam has announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Securiti AI for $1.725 billion, bringing together Veeam’s data protection platform with Securiti AI’s capabilities in data security posture, privacy oversight, access control, and trustworthy AI management. The combined platform is intended to act as a single command center for both operational and backup data across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
According to the companies, this integration addresses challenges caused by fragmented data environments, rising cyber risks, and the difficulty of ensuring data quality for AI systems. As enterprises increasingly rely on unstructured information such as documents, emails, and customer communications, the unified offering aims to help them locate, secure, restore, and validate data at scale.
Veeam CEO Anand Eswaran stated, “It’s no longer about just protecting data from cyber threats and unforeseen disasters; it’s also about identifying all your data, ensuring it’s governed and trusted to power AI transparently.” Securiti AI CEO Rehan Jalil added, “Bringing together our unique capabilities with Veeam, the global leader in data resilience, creates a new value proposition for customers with one data command center delivering data resilience, DSPM, privacy, governance, and AI trust for your entire data estate.”
He highlighted that Veeam’s global presence and innovation, combined with Securiti’s technology, would enhance resilience and security, helping customers fully benefit from AI. Following the deal’s close, Jalil will join Veeam as President of Security and AI.
