Atlassian has announced a definitive agreement to acquire DX, a firm specializing in engineering intelligence for enterprises. The move aims to help organizations assess whether their growing investments in AI are truly accelerating software delivery.
With more than 20 years of building tools like Jira, Bitbucket, and Compass, Atlassian is expanding its System of Work by adding DX’s ability to measure productivity, benchmark performance, and evaluate the return on AI adoption. DX currently supports over 350 enterprises, including Pfizer, Pinterest, and Xero, by combining qualitative feedback with quantitative metrics to provide clarity on developer flow, system health, and bottlenecks.
As Atlassian integrates DX with products such as Rovo Dev, Jira, and Bitbucket Pipelines, customers will gain real-time insights into productivity and investment outcomes. Atlassian says its Developer Experience (DX) platform helps answer key questions for tech leaders: how to measure engineering productivity, where to invest in AI, and how to track ROI.
