SAP, the German enterprise software company, has broadened its Sovereign Cloud portfolio to give European organizations greater control over data, infrastructure, and compliance. The expanded suite includes SAP Cloud Infrastructure, SAP Sovereign Cloud On-Site, and Delos Cloud in Germany, enabling customers to tailor deployment models to regulatory and operational requirements while maintaining innovation speed. With more than $21.8 billion committed to long-term investment, SAP is positioning digital sovereignty as central to Europe’s resilience and strategic autonomy.
“Europe’s leadership in the next era of digital innovation—especially in AI—will depend on how effectively we apply AI to solve differentiated industry use cases,” said Thomas Saueressig, Executive Board Member of SAP SE, highlighting the importance of secure and sovereign frameworks for public and regulated sectors.
The enhanced offering allows customers to run the full SAP Business Suite within sovereign environments, benefiting from the SAP Business Technology Platform and embedded SAP Business AI while ensuring compliance with European data protection rules. SAP emphasized that the portfolio is supported by localized delivery expertise and extensive certifications across multiple countries.
“The digital resilience of Europe depends on sovereignty that is secure, scalable and future-ready,” said Martin Merz, President of SAP Sovereign Cloud.
