The Software Report is pleased to announce The Top 25 HR Software Executives of 2025. Earlier this year, Paychex CEO John B. Gibson led the company’s largest acquisition to date, bringing Paycor into the fold in a $4.1 billion deal that expanded Paychex’s market reach and positioned it to surpass $6 billion in revenue by 2026. In a similarly defining step, CEO Joshua Reeves strengthened Gusto’s platform by acquiring Guideline, a retirement services provider with over $20 billion in assets.
AI leadership has been equally pivotal. Workday Vice President of AI Kathy Pham has been at the forefront of advancing Illuminate, the company’s next-generation AI platform built around intelligent agents, and advanced Workday’s position as a frontrunner in embedding AI across enterprise HR and finance. Meanwhile, DailyPay CEO Stacy Greiner oversaw a landmark partnership with Workday, integrating on-demand pay into one of the world’s most widely used HCM platforms and extending DailyPay’s influence across millions of workers.

1. John B. Gibson

John B. Gibson is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Paychex. A seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience, he oversees all aspects of the company’s operations, guiding the leading provider of payroll, benefits, HR, and insurance solutions.
Gibson led Paychex through its largest acquisition to date, Paycor, this year, expanding the company’s suite of human capital management offerings. Under his leadership, Paychex now serves around 800,000 customers and is on track to exceed $6 billion in revenue by fiscal year 2026.
Having spent over 12 years at the company, he previously served as Paychex’s president and chief operating officer, overseeing operations, sales, service, marketing, and product management. Gibson played a key role in advancing the company’s digital payroll and PEO businesses, international expansion, and purpose-driven culture focused on innovation and client success.
Prior to joining Paychex, he held senior executive roles at Ameritech (now AT&T), AlphaStaff, and Convergys (now Concentrix), where he led global HR solutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Indiana University Bloomington and completed executive programs at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and INSEAD.
2. Toby Williams

Toby Williams is the President and Chief Executive Officer and a Board Director of Paylocity, a provider of cloud-based HR and payroll software solutions. Williams is responsible for articulating and translating the company’s vision into its go-to-market strategy, overseeing operations, and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
Founded in 1997, Paylocity is an intuitive platform that helps businesses automate HR and payroll, attract and retain talent, and strengthen employee engagement. 3. Carina Cortez

Cortez holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in HR management from California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo and a master’s degree in diversity and inclusion leadership from Tufts University.
4. Joshua Reeves

Joshua Reeves is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Gusto, a cloud-based HR platform serving more than 400,000 businesses across the United States. The platform aims to simplify payroll, benefits, and HR through an integrated system that processes tens of billions of dollars annually, offering solutions such as health insurance, 401(k) accounts, and compliance support.
As CEO, Reeves oversees Gusto’s technology strategy and long-term vision, focusing on HR services for small and medium-sized businesses. In 2025, he advanced the company’s growth strategy with the acquisition of Guideline, a retirement services provider managing more than $20 billion in assets. 5. Mahe Bayireddi

Mahe Bayireddi is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Phenom, an HR company that delivers AI-powered talent experiences to global enterprises. With a strong background in entrepreneurship and software innovation, he has co-founded multiple companies, including SnipSnap and BijaHealth, and previously served as CEO and co-founder of BHSP Nexus Software Consulting.
Building on his past founder experiences, Bayireddi now leads a team of over 1,000, focusing on advancing AI-powered HR solutions and transforming how organizations engage with talent. Founded in 2011, Phenom’s Intelligent Talent Experience platform connects candidates, recruiters, employers, and HR systems to help companies hire faster, develop talent, and improve retention. Today, more than 500 enterprises worldwide use Phenom’s suite of products, which includes career sites, chatbots, CRM, AI scheduling, video assessments, and talent marketplaces.
He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Maharishi International University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Madras.
6. Jimmy Adams

Title: Chief Product Development Officer
Jimmy Adams joined ADP in 2006 and has been instrumental in defining the company’s approach to HR technology. ADP is a global leader in human capital management, providing payroll, HR, talent, time, tax, and benefits services to more than one million clients worldwide. As Chief Product Development Officer, Adams leads ADP’s global product development teams, driving strategies that improve technology offerings and deliver better experiences for clients across 140 countries.
During his 20-year tenure at ADP, Adams served as senior vice president of product development for National Account Services, where he improved collaboration between service and technology to enhance client outcomes. He also led the development of ADP’s award-winning Next Gen payroll platform and directed product innovation for ADP TotalSource, including benefits, ACA modules, and analytics tools. 7. Suresh Vittal

Title: Chief Product Officer
Suresh Vittal is the Chief Product Officer of UKG, leading global product management, strategy, and development teams across HR, payroll, workforce management, and culture solutions. He is responsible for advancing UKG’s Life-Work Technology approach, embedding artificial intelligence and workforce intelligence data into the company’s products to help more than 80,000 organizations in 150 countries anticipate and adapt to employee needs.
At UKG, Vittal applies a customer-focused approach to software development and team leadership, overseeing user experience and cloud operations while shaping the company’s product roadmap. Under his leadership, UKG has introduced UKG Bryte AI agents for its Pro and Ready suites, designed to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency for both enterprise and SMB clients. He is also involved in plans to expand UKG’s Centre of Excellence in Pune, India, scaling the office to over 250 employees by the end of the year, with a focus on platform development, AI, and customer experience.
Vittal joined UKG in 2025 after more than 20 years in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry. He previously served as chief product officer at Alteryx, Inc., where he led product, engineering, design, and development teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions. Earlier, he spent nearly a decade at Adobe, rising to senior vice president of platform and products for Adobe Experience Cloud. He holds a master’s degree in computer information systems from Bentley University’s McCallum Graduate School of Business.
8. Bradley Rencher
Company: BambooHR
Title: Chief Executive Officer
Bradley Rencher is the Chief Executive Officer of BambooHR, a cloud-based human resources software company that helps organizations create better workplaces. BambooHR serves over 15,000 customers across 120 countries with solutions for employee data management, hiring, and performance, aiming to “set people free to do great work.”
At BambooHR, Rencher is responsible for leading the company’s global strategy, product direction, and growth initiatives. He applies more than 25 years of experience in technology, SaaS, and customer experience to guide the company’s platform development, improve employee experiences, and strengthen customer relationships. Under Rencher’s leadership, BambooHR has rolled out a series of major product innovations, including AI Matching for HR Benchmarks, Total Rewards, and an Employer of Record (EOR) service powered by Remote.
Before joining BambooHR in 2019, Rencher was executive vice president and general manager at Adobe, where he led teams responsible for building Adobe Experience Cloud, the company’s industry-leading analytics platform and held leadership roles at Omniture. He began his career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley and RBC Capital Markets. Rencher holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
9. Michael Seckler

Title: Chief Executive Officer
Michael Seckler is the Chief Executive Officer of Justworks, where he oversees the company’s strategy, operations, and growth initiatives. He guides product development and client experience with a focus on helping businesses scale efficiently and compliantly, while ensuring Justworks continues to deliver intuitive HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance solutions.
Since becoming CEO, Seckler has driven major expansion at Justworks, growing the platform to serve more than 12,000 small businesses and scaling the team to 1,500 employees. Previously, Seckler was co-founder and partner at Euclidean Technologies and division vice president at ADP Employease. He also worked as a consultant at Mercer Management Consulting. Seckler holds a bachelor’s degree in geology and history from Williams College.
10. Nurasyl Serik

Title: CEO & Co-Founder
Nurasyl Serik co-founded RemoFirst in 2021 to simplify international hiring and workforce management. RemoFirst provides a global payroll and HR compliance platform that enables businesses to hire, manage, and pay remote employees across borders. The platform makes employer-of-record (EOR) services accessible and allows companies to scale international teams while staying compliant with local labor laws.
Since its founding, the company has grown rapidly, serving thousands of employees globally and expanding its team, and has launched products such as RemoHealth to support remote team benefits.
Prior to RemoFirst, Serik was a product manager at JOB TODAY and a co-founder of TreeSpero. Earlier, he co-founded and served as CEO of Billion Innovative Ideas Club. 11. Amanda Berger

As Chief Customer Officer of Employ, Amanda Berger has spent the year since her appointment in 2024 shaping the company’s customer experience strategy to maximize retention, growth, and cross-functional collaboration. Employ serves more than 21,000 customers, helping organizations of all sizes overcome recruiting and talent acquisition challenges through people-first technologies, services, and expertise.
Berger brings over 20 years of experience leading software and SaaS companies across cybersecurity, AI, e-commerce, and business intelligence. She has led customer retention and expansion strategies at HackerOne, Lucidworks, and RichRelevance, and managed professional services at Guidance Software and MicroStrategy. At Employ, she is focused on enhancing value for a large and growing customer base, improving outcomes, and fostering a culture of customer-centricity across the organization.
Employ is the parent company of JazzHR, Lever, Jobvite, and NXTThing RPO, offering a curated set of solutions that help SMBs and global enterprises recruit, manage, and grow a diverse workforce. Berger began her career as a senior consultant at Avega and holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Occidental College.
12. Stacy Greiner

Title: Chief Executive Officer
On-demand pay leader DailyPay is led by Chief Executive Officer Stacy Greiner, who joined the company in 2022. DailyPay is a leading worktech company that powers on-demand pay through its earned wage access platform, enabling employers to offer financial flexibility while delivering a world-class experience for clients, partners, and employees.
Since taking the helm, Greiner has accelerated DailyPay’s global expansion, including launching operations in the United Kingdom and forming strategic partnerships with Visa and Workday, while helping employers provide frontline and hourly workers with real-time access to their earned wages. Under her guidance, DailyPay has achieved measurable impact for clients, including up to 72% reduction in staff turnover across its U.S. customer base.
Greiner previously served as chief operating officer of the company, where she expanded its offerings and drove scaled growth. Prior to DailyPay, she held senior leadership positions at Dun & Bradstreet, where she was general manager of the Sales and Marketing Solutions division, Cisco, and IBM, leading global teams across product, marketing, data, and analytics. Greiner began her career as a software engineer at Accenture’s Center for Strategic Technology and at Silicon Valley startups.

13. David Hughson

David Hughson, Chief Revenue Officer of RemoFirst, guides the revenue strategy of the Employer of Record and compliance platform, which supports companies hiring and managing workers in over 185 countries. 14. Daniel Chait

15. Denise Hemke

Denise Hemke is the Chief Product Officer of NEOGOV, where she leads product strategy and innovation for public sector HR, public safety, and education organizations. 16. Sarah Franklin

18. Poornima Farrar

Poornima Farrar is the Chief Product Officer at Rival, a Chicago-based provider of AI-powered human capital management solutions. At Rival, she has driven the development of innovative products such as ROSI (Rival OS Intelligence), the first enterprise-ready conversational AI agent for HR teams and employees, which is integrated within Rival Workflow to provide real-time insights and highlight task risks without the need for dashboards or manual data searches.

19. Doug Dennerline

As Chief Executive Officer of Betterworks since 2018, Doug Dennerline has guided the company through a period of growth and transformation in the performance management space. 20. Dave Gray

David Gray is a seasoned internet technology industry veteran with a 25-year track record of building healthy, high-performing teams and a strong track record of growth and market expansion. Gray joined Arcoro in November 2024. 21. Deb Muller

Deb Muller founded HR Acuity in 2006 to standardize how organizations investigate, document, and report employee-related events. Prior to founding HR Acuity, Muller was an HR executive, serving as vice president of human resources at D&B, and before that, director of human resources at Honeywell International. She also served as assistant vice president of human resources at Citibank.
As CEO, Muller has led major business initiatives including creating the empowER community for employee relations professionals and hosting the Employee Relations Roundtable to bring together global leaders. In 2024, the company launched a next-generation platform with a new analytics suite and responsible AI.
HR Acuity provides a predictive and disciplined approach to managing workplace issues. Muller holds a master’s degree in instructional systems development from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
22. Heidi Farris

Heidi Farris is the Chief Executive Officer of ActivTrak, a company that helps enterprises enhance operational efficiency through AI-powered workforce intelligence. 23. Lauren Pfanmiller

Lauren Pfanmiller is the Chief Operating Officer of WorkBright, a compliance-first digital onboarding platform founded in 2014. 24. Kelly Tuminelli
