SAP Executive Board Member Muhammad Alam said, “Hiring the right people is not just an HR priority – it’s a business priority. With this planned acquisition, we will help our customers attract and hire the best talent so they can advance their talent acquisition agendas with speed and agility, while lowering their total cost of ownership.” He further added that customers will be able to manage the full candidate lifecycle in one system, streamlining hiring for recruiters, managers, and candidates.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals, with SmartRecruiters continuing to operate as a standalone product for the foreseeable future. The combined offering will enhance applicant tracking, improve hiring efficiency, and deliver AI-driven insights on talent pools, hiring bottlenecks, and workforce planning.

SAP will integrate SmartRecruiters’ analytics and workflows into its HCM suite, creating a unified platform for recruiters, managers, and candidates. SmartRecruiters CEO Rebecca Carr noted, “Joining forces with SAP presents a tremendous opportunity for enterprises worldwide to benefit from our industry-leading approach to talent acquisition.” Financial terms were not disclosed, and J.P. Morgan acted as SmartRecruiters’ exclusive financial advisor.
