Helin Cox has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at Climeworks, bringing with her a wealth of experience in scaling critical climate technologies. With a strong background in technology commercialization, industrial scale-up, and R&D, Cox will lead a team of 150 Engineers and Scientists to optimize Climeworks’ Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology. This will include advancing promising filter materials, process designs, and operational approaches to capture CO₂ more effectively while reducing energy consumption. Cox’s goal is to support the deployment of the company’s most efficient DAC plant yet, significantly increasing climate impact.

Before joining Climeworks, Cox was Senior Director of Technology Development at Honeywell UOP, overseeing a diverse portfolio including carbon capture, renewable fuels, and clean hydrogen. With expertise in full-stage R&D processes and a track record of managing large-scale projects, Cox is well-positioned to lead Climeworks in advancing its DAC technology. Upon being appointed, Cox expressed, “Leveraging my experience in technology scale-up and passion for impact, I look forward to accelerating the deployment of DAC at the pace the climate challenge demands.”
